1. Discover and understand the grammar pattern of Restrictive and Non-restrictive Attributive Clauses. 
2. Analyze the grammar features and generalize the rules of Restrictive and Non-restrictive Attributive Clauses. 
3. Have a deeper understanding of the cultural relic in Taizhou, Xianju Embroidered Frameless Lantern. 
4. Apply the grammar into writing under the guidance of the teacher.

Purpose 
Step 1: Lead in 
T shows a short video clip from national geography about the Amber Room. T: What can you see in the video clip? T asks students to generalize the three aspects of the content of the clip.      Step 2: Discover the grammar pattern Part 1: The introduction of the Amber Room T: What was this gift? Why was it given this name? T asks students to combine the two answers together by using   
 Naturally lead in the topic.  
 Set the stage for the next activity.

attributive clauses. Part 2: The moving of the Amber Room Part 3: The missing of the Amber Room T continues to ask questions to guide students to use attributive clauses to answer the questions in part 2 and part 3.   Step 3: Analyze the grammar T gives Ss a list of grammar terms about the attributive clauses. T gives Ss an example of analyzing the sentences we get from the previous activity.  Example: This gift was the Amber room, which was given this name because several tons of amber were used to make it.  T:  It is non-restrictive. The head noun is “the Amber Room.”     The relative word is “which.” “Which” acts as a subject in the clause. T asks Ss to analyze the rest of the sentences one by one.  Step 4: Generalize the rules  T shows a table for Ss and then guides them to focus on the form and function of the Restrictive and Non-restrictive Attributive Clauses respectively.  Kinds Restrictive  Non-restrictive

T assigned a task for Ss: If you are a guide of Taizhou Museum, you are going to write a script to introduce Xianju Embroidered Frameless Lantern. Now, think and Write. 
1. 今天我要介紹的文化遺產叫做仙居無骨針刺花燈，它因使用針作為主要工具以及全身無骨架而得名。 
T let Ss to pay special attention to the words in red and remind them of using relative word by referring to what we have learnt. T asks one of the Ss to share his/her answer. 
T asks Ss to finish the rest 3 sentences one by one.  
Part 2: A tale behind the lantern 
T shows the two main characters and gives Ss four phrases of the story: got lost; met a fairy; offered a lantern; saved his life.
