Analysis of the teaching materials	This passage mainly deals with online friendship to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of making friends online.
Analysis of the students	Reading comprehension of this passage is not difficult for students，but how to help Ss develop critical thinking of making friends online is a challenge.
Teaching goals	Knowledge aim	To get some basic knowledge about ways of making friends and thinking whether it is real or not about making friends online. To grasp the new words and expressions.
	Ability aim	To develop the students’ basic reading skills and critical thinking ability.
	Emotional aim	To make students cherish their friends To make students be aware of the danger of making online friends and know how to solve it.
Teaching important points	1. To enable the Ss to use the reading skills of skimming and scanning to grasp the details of the text. 2. To get students to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of making online friends.

Teaching Procedures
Step1: Lead-in (2mins)

1. Guess who are known for their friendship in ancient China.
2. Compare the ways of making friends in the past and nowadays.

Step2: Reading (17mins)

Read the title and whole passage quickly to find out:

2. Offer two suggestions about how to solve the problem of being cheated by online friends.
