這個句子為一般現在時的被動語態。 invite是動詞，表示“邀請”。 invitation是名詞，也表示“邀請”。
3. And I was asked to bring some balloons and paint some pictures for the party. 我被要求帶一些氣球和為這個聚會畫一些畫。 balloon表示“氣球”。 paint表示“繪畫”，是動詞。
e.g. Please paint a balloon for me in the paper. 請為我在紙上畫一個氣球。 4. We can heat it up in the school kitchen. 我們能在學校廚房加熱它。 heat up表示 “使變熱，給…加熱”。 e.g. Light the cooker and heat up the food. 點著廚具加熱食物。
5. The teachers have asked everyone to prepare a traditional dish from their home country. 老師要求每人準備一道家鄉的傳統菜。 dish表示“烹制好的菜肴，一道菜”。
e.g. When I was in Italy, I had a wonderful pasta dish. 我在意大利的時候，吃過一次很棒的意大利面。
dish還表示“盤子”。Dish的復數還可以表示“待洗的餐具”。 e.g. I’ll do the dishes before we go. 我們走之前，我會把餐具洗好的。 6. Oh, soup’s no good then. 哦，湯不行。
no good表示“不適合”。
e.g. These glasses are no good for champagne. 這些玻璃杯不適合用來喝香檳。
no good的用法有四條：

(1) it is no good doing 做某事沒用
e.g. It’s no good talking to him—he never listens. 跟他講沒用，他從來不聽。
(2) no good for sth. 不適合某物/某事 e.g. This medicine is no good for headache. 這藥治不了頭痛。
(3) no good to sb.對某人沒有好處或沒有幫助 e.g. A car is no good for me, since I can’t drive. 汽車對我沒用，因為我不會開車。
(4) do no good 沒用處，不成功
e.g. I’ll talk to him, but it will do no good.
我會和他談的，但不會有用。
7. That means you eat it with your fingers, not with a knife, fork or spoon. 那意味著你吃飯用你的手指，不會用刀、叉、勺子。 knife表示“餐刀”，復數為knives. fork表示“餐叉”。 spoon表示“匙”。 a knife and fork表示“一副刀叉”。 8.
