Teaching objectives :
1. Practice using the future tense 2. Topic:Different robots in the future
3. Inspire students to predict what is going on in the future to help them live with imagination and enjoy life at present.
Teaching process :
Step 1 Lead in
Task 1 Compare ways of traveling , communicating and payment in the past with that at present to see the difference and to know the development of the world .
Conclusion : Our future is full of changes/ surprise
Task 2 guess work :
Use a picture of robots to help students guess : how can the robots help us in the future?
Conclusion : Robots can help us to live a better
life.
Step 2 Skimming Reading : Read the article quickly in 3 minutes to get to know the main
idea of each paragraph with some match work .
Step 3 Comprehensive Reading : Read each paragraph carefully to get more details.
Jigsaw reading --ask boys to read para 1 and girls to read para 2
Paragraph 1 What are robots like in movies?
After reading paragraph 1 , asked students to talk about what can robots do in movies .
Paragraph 2 What can robots do today?
Task 1 Questions : 1. What can robots do today according to the passage.
A. Work in the factories . B. help build cars .
2 . What’s the difference from human workers when robots do the same jobs?
Robots can do simple and boring jobs over and over again Robots will never_ get tired__.
Task 2 Predictions : Help students to make predictions after answering the questions above.
Fewer people will do simple boring jobs.

Paragraph 3 Will robots think like humans in the future?
Task 1 Learn to describe what the robots are doing in the picture Task 2 Topic : What else do you want robots to do ?

Task 3 Share opinions about future robots to learn the difference between robots and
real humans.
Paragraph 4 What will robots be like in the future?
Task 1 Make sure students know the example in paragraph 4, by asking questions “If
buildings fall down with people inside , what kind of robots do we need to save people ?” The right choice is B
Task 2 What will robots be like in the future?
A. Look like humans B. Look like animals
Task 3 Conclusion:
We will never know what will happen in the future unless we try our best !
Step 4 classroom activities .
Ask students to design their own robots and do a presentation on the platform
(Allow students to choose to do a role play or draw a picture )
