The topic of this period is the reading part An Interesting Job.2a helps the students to review some description words of people’s looks.2b introduces what a police artist is and why it is interesting. 
【Students analysis】 
 Students will learn An Interesting Job.They are interested in the article and what a police artist does.They will continue studying to describe people’s appearance using the description words in stories and real life.It’s a little difficult for them to describe different persons. 
【Learning demands】 
At the end of this class, students will be able to:  1、Know the following key words and phrases: artist, crime, criminal, put, each, way, describe, differently, another, end, in the end, real;  
2、Understand the content of the passage and complete the tasks; 3、Know how to get the meaning of the pronouns;

【Learning key points】 
1. Words ：blonde round face month eye nose singer artist crime criminal put each way describe differently another end real 2.Key phrases：in the end , a picture of  ,not always  3.Target language 
1) He wants to draw a good picture of each criminal, but this job is sometimes difficult. 
2) Many people don’t always see things the same way so they describe the same people differently. 
3) Another woman says,“He is tall and thin ,and he has curly blonde hair .He’s about thirty years old. ” 
【Learning difficult points】 
1、Find the English meaning of the pronouns in 2b. 
2、Understand 2b and know how to retell the newspaper article.

A: What does he/she look like? From age, height, build,eyes,hair,face and wearing...

1,Do 2a. Complete the chart with words of the opposite meaning .  
2,Guess :What does he do ? And learn two new words :criminal and artist 
【While－reading】  
Task1 ,Fast reading:Read 2b quickly and find the answers to the questions. 
Task2,Careful reading :Read Paragraph 1 and fill in the blanks.y? 
Task3,Read paragraph2 and  answer the question:Joe Brown’s job sometimes is difficult,why? 
Task4,Read paragraph2 carefully and find out who is the real criminal.What does the real criminal look like ? Task 5,Group work.Read the article again ,work in groups of four to find out and write what the words in bold refer to. 
【After-rading 】 
Task 1 ,Retell the story An Interesting Job according the mind map. 
Task 2 ,Help Joe find the criminals in town by describing what the criminals look like and show.

Task 3, Free talk about three questions.Lead the students to be a good person for the society.
