Student analysis學情分析 
Ss are mainly from rural areas near the Dali City, which makes them have more difficulties in speaking and writing comparing with the Ss who come from the cities. So how to make them have confidence in using the language is the most important point in this class. Group discussion and individual works are designed to help them use the language as much as possible and the exercise of mind map is to integrate their critical thinking.

Enable Ss to get knowledge of astronomy science.

Ss preview the new words and phrases in this unit and get the general idea of this reading passage.  
【While-class】 
Step 1 Warming up 
Introduce the basic knowledge about moon and astronauts.     
Activity (1) Would you like to travel to the moon? what you need if you travel to the moon? (Only three things)  
Activity (2) Play a video about how an astronaut wash her hair in spaceship and introduce the change of gravity in 
space . 
 
Step 2 Pre-reading   (Group Work)  
To get Ss interested in the reading passage quickly and think independently.  
Activity  Mind map: What do you want to know about the passage according to the picture and the title? Draw a

Step 4 Speaking 
To make the topic of this reading passage relate more to Ss’s life, thus they can have more words to say and be more confident in learning English. 
Activity(1) Discussion: What kind of person makes a good astronaut?  (adjectives) 
Activity(2) Pair work: What would you like to do in the future? What kind of qualities do the job need? 
 
Step 5 Creative writing: My Future Job 
To help Ss write essays with clear structures and help them do some critical thinking.

Sentence structure could be:
