Ⅰ、Teaching Aims and Demands: 1． Knowledge Objects: 
Words: opinion, skill. Typical, cut out, quick, continue, compare …with, crazy, push, development, cause, usual. Structures: 
The tired children don’t get home until after 7:00 pm. 
Many of them are leaning exam skills so that they can get into a good high school and later a good university. 
Although it’s normal to want successful children, it’s even more important to have happy children. 
2． Ability Objects: 
(1) Train students’ reading skill: guessing the meanings of new words from the context. 
(2) Encourage students to talk about after-school activities and express their own opinions about them. 
3． Moral Objects 
Get students to know after-school classes have both advantages and disadvantages ,if we know clearly why we have them and choose the classes we like, they will be good for our development. 2學(xué)情分析  
本課圍繞“課外班”這一話(huà)題展開(kāi)，非常貼近學(xué)生生活實(shí)際，同時(shí)八年級(jí)學(xué)生也具備了一定的英語(yǔ)表達(dá)能力，教師應(yīng)該創(chuàng)設(shè)合適的活動(dòng)以給學(xué)生充分的機(jī)會(huì)去表現(xiàn)。 Ⅱ、Teaching Key and Difficult Points 1． Learn to express one’s opinions.  
2． Try to understand the meanings of new words according to the context. Step1: leading in 
1．Students perform a play about TFboys. 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖: 通過(guò)觀(guān)看學(xué)生排演的小品了解上補(bǔ)習(xí)班的目的，也就是第一段的主要內(nèi)容.寓教于樂(lè)，同時(shí)，當(dāng)學(xué)生知道他們的偶像也在上課外班來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)自己的夢(mèng)想，就會(huì)對(duì)課外班有一個(gè)更深刻的認(rèn)識(shí)，為實(shí)現(xiàn)本課的情感目標(biāo)埋下伏筆。 
2.Watch a video about 3 parents’ opinions of after-school classes. 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)本班三位家長(zhǎng)談?wù)撟约簩?duì)課外班的看法，在無(wú)形中向?qū)W生展示了文章后三段的重點(diǎn)句子。當(dāng)學(xué)生看到自己的父母居然也能說(shuō)一口流利的英語(yǔ)時(shí)，驚訝中更加深了對(duì)重點(diǎn)句子的印象。 Step 2: skimming 
Skim the article and answer the questions in 2b.  設(shè)計(jì)意圖:學(xué)生略讀課文，了解寫(xiě)作意圖。 Step 3: Guessing the Meaning 
Teach students to guess the meaning of the new words according to context. Then finish 2c. 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:掌握新的閱讀技巧，提高閱讀能力。同時(shí)學(xué)生利用猜詞法自己習(xí)得了新單詞，既有趣又提高了自學(xué)能力。 Step 4: scanning 
Work out the main structure of the article. 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:縷清文章的結(jié)構(gòu)，提煉文章的主要內(nèi)容。 Step 5: careful reading

                            設(shè)計(jì)意圖:掌握重點(diǎn)句型，更好的理解文章。 Step 6 :summary 
Summarize the useful structures to express one’s opinions. 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:總結(jié)本節(jié)課所學(xué)的表達(dá)觀(guān)點(diǎn)的常用語(yǔ)，為下一步的辯論會(huì)打好基礎(chǔ)。 Step7: Let's debate! 
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:為了幫助學(xué)生掌握本節(jié)課的重點(diǎn)——學(xué)會(huì)表達(dá)觀(guān)點(diǎn)，最適合的活動(dòng)就是辯論會(huì)。課前我準(zhǔn)備了一些談?wù)撜n外班的英語(yǔ)文章，提前發(fā)送到學(xué)生的pad上供他們參考，學(xué)生也可以上網(wǎng)查找不會(huì)的單詞等.最后，利用云教學(xué)平臺(tái)的點(diǎn)贊功能，選出獲勝方，進(jìn)行評(píng)價(jià)。充分利用現(xiàn)代化手段，降低活動(dòng)難度并提高學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)興趣。 Step 8: Conclude the debate. 
After-school classes have both advantages and disadvantages ,if we know clearly why we have them and choose the classes we like, they will be good for our development. Step 8：Homework: 
What do you think of after-school classes? Write an article about it.
