Step 5.Fast Reading---Skimming 1.Predict: What is the passage about? 2.Skim the passage and answer the questions. 1)Why did Lisa’s parents take them to India? 2)How was their weekend? 3)What are the topic sentences of Para2&3? Ss comes to the front to show her unforgetable day and ask others questions. Ss answer teacher’s questions. Ss say sth according to teacher’s questions,talk about the animals they are afraid of. Ss look at the picture and the title to have a prediction.
Ss skim Para1 and answer the questions.
Ss skim Para2&3 then find out the topic sentences.
Step 6.Detailed Reading 1.Read Para 2 and fill in the blanks in groups ,then retell in pairs. 2.Read Para 3 and answer the questions. 1)What was the terrible surprise? 2)How did they feel, when they saw the snake? 2)What did Lisa and her sister do ? 3)What did their parents do?Why? 3.Retelling Para3 Step 7.Post Reading---A useful lesson T: What useful lesson did Lisa get from the weekend? They give us life,bring us up and also give us many useful lessons, next let’s enjoy sweet time with our family. T:Does the video bring you back to sweet memories?
