Step 1  Warm up.	1.Say a chant. 2.PPT：map of the world, ask the students to find: China, the US. 3.Ask the students to introduce some information they know about the US. 4.Enjoy some pictures of the US.	1.Say the chant, get to know four directions for the first time. 2.Get to know the US on the map of the world. 3. Get to know the US with the help of the pictures ..	借助歌謠、圖片等多種形式調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生在愉悅的氛圍中進(jìn)入本課的學(xué)習(xí)，初步了解美國(guó)概況的簡(jiǎn)單信息，為后面學(xué)習(xí)其主要城市做鋪墊。
Step 2  Presentation.	1.Watch the CD-ROM and try to say the names of the three cities. 2. With the help of the marker and the text, the students try to describe where the three cities are in the US and help the teacher complete the main sentences on the board. Show a picture of the compass on ppt, help the students learn four directions:east, west, north, south. By asking some questions, the students can get to know where Simon lives in the US clearly. 4.Listen and repeat. 5.Read the text in pairs.	1.Find three names they hear in the dialog. 2.Watch the CD-ROM again and stick the cards ofNew York, Los Angeles and Washington DC on the map of the US. 3.Learn south, north, east and west ,with the help of a compass on ppt 4. Play games with the teacher to emphasize the four direction words.. 4.Listen and try to imitate the tones and voices. Then read with partners.	第一遍整體感知文本內(nèi)容，學(xué)習(xí)3個(gè)主要城市名稱。第二遍整體感知文本引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在方向標(biāo)的幫助下嘗試自己辨別紐約和洛杉磯的地理位置，并貼到地圖上，體驗(yàn)成功感。第三遍整體感知文本鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生同伴合作，獲取相關(guān)城市地理位置的準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)，師生合作完成板書(shū)，進(jìn)一步鞏固核心語(yǔ)言的學(xué)習(xí)，從而有效地加深理解和記憶。
Step 3 Consolidation and extension.	1 Play a game: The students response quickly using“east, west”. 2. Pictures of the minions. Group work:read the letter from the minions, stick them on the right location on the paper. 3.Then try to talk about their own rooms .	1. Try to keep the track of the red dots on ppt quickly and say the direction words and phrases; in the east / west of. 2. Read the letter from the minions, complete the picture by reading the hints in the letter. 3. Try to match and talk about their own rooms based on the structure in Minions’ letter.	游戲的設(shè)計(jì)易于吸引學(xué)生全員性參與活動(dòng)，進(jìn)一步鞏固方位詞的熟練運(yùn)用.小組活動(dòng)兼具趣味性和實(shí)用性，通過(guò)閱讀小黃人的來(lái)信動(dòng)手貼小黃人的房間位置等，搭建一定語(yǔ)言支架后嘗試簡(jiǎn)單介紹自己房間的布局，進(jìn)行語(yǔ)言的真實(shí)輸出和操練。
Step 4  Summary	Guide the students to sum up what they have learned in this class, and inspire them to say“East or west, home is the best.”	To sum up new words and structure learnt today, and to sense deeply “Home is the best”.
Step 5  Homework.	1  Listen and repeat the text. 2  Try to finish the picture and the passage about “My room”.

三、教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)說(shuō)明
《國(guó)家英語(yǔ)課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)》指出，英語(yǔ)教學(xué)要“體現(xiàn)工具性和人文性的雙重屬性”，“重視學(xué)生個(gè)體差異、重視語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)的實(shí)踐性和應(yīng)用性。” 小學(xué)階段的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)從學(xué)生的生活經(jīng)驗(yàn)和認(rèn)知水平出發(fā)，采用活動(dòng)途徑，倡導(dǎo)體驗(yàn)、參與、合作與交流的學(xué)習(xí)方式，發(fā)展學(xué)生的綜合語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力。
本模塊的主要教學(xué)內(nèi)容是說(shuō)明方位，談?wù)撁绹?guó)和中國(guó)的一些城市。 Unit 1 的課文語(yǔ)境是Daming 向Sam介紹美國(guó)的三個(gè)主要城市。Unit 2 的課文語(yǔ)境則是中國(guó)幾個(gè)城市的位置介紹。本模塊的重點(diǎn)是說(shuō)明地理方位，是一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的綜合運(yùn)用。本節(jié)課是該模塊的第一單元的教學(xué)，基于課標(biāo)、基于教材、基于學(xué)生在教學(xué)中通過(guò)語(yǔ)境的創(chuàng)設(shè)提供學(xué)生語(yǔ)用體驗(yàn)，利用地圖和圖片的呈現(xiàn)，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生New York, Los Angeles和Wanshington DC的地理方位，進(jìn)一步鼓勵(lì)描述方位功能語(yǔ)言的輸出。本課時(shí)為模塊教學(xué)的第一課時(shí)，主要學(xué)習(xí)美國(guó)幾個(gè)著名城市的位置，課后練習(xí)及小組活動(dòng)也結(jié)合本課時(shí)文本話題開(kāi)展，考慮到黃山小學(xué)生沒(méi)有系統(tǒng)學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)外研社教材，所以文本內(nèi)容只做簡(jiǎn)單語(yǔ)境處理，學(xué)生大體了解就可以，增加小黃人閱讀游戲和學(xué)生自己房間物品位置的描述練習(xí)是為了引導(dǎo)學(xué)生通過(guò)聽(tīng)讀、整體感知、自主生成和小組合作等形式的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)語(yǔ)言的實(shí)際應(yīng)用，體現(xiàn)語(yǔ)言的功能性。
