1. Learn and master the new words (hobby, poem, maybe, pet, collect, plant) & the new phrases (recite poem, be interested in, be fond of). 2. Learn the sentences of talking about hobbies. -- What’s your hobby?
-- I like/enjoy/love/prefer/am interested in /am fond of… 3. Listen and understand the sentences of talking about hobbies. 4. Emotion aims: Form a good, healthy hobby, and be active in life. Ⅱ. Teaching strategies
1. Use multimedia equipment, computer, mobile phone and usb-cable.
2. Practice (ask and answer, pair work, group work, act and guess, make a survey and report)
Ⅲ. Presentation (new lesson) 1. Lead in
A student gives a free talk, then lead in.
Hobby is something you like doing. It’s just something you enjoy doing, you are interested in doing it. You must think it is fun. So, what are their hobbies? (Show the pictures in 3a.)
2. Match the pictures with the people’s hobbies, then listen and number the pictures (3a).
3. Listen to 1a and talk about Helen and Wen Wei’s hobby. (1) Listen to 1a finish 1b p55.
(2) Watch the video of 1a, then finish 1c, 1d. (3) Practice 1a in pairs and then act out.
4. Lead in2, talk about the children’s hobbies in the picture. ① Listen and complete the sentence.
② Summarize the ways of talking about hobbies.

③ Use the expressions to talk about the famous people’s hobbies. Act and guess.
5. Group work. (Talk about our hobbies.)
⑴ Use the expression of talking about hobbies to make a survey in groups. ⑵ Give a report about group members’ hobbies. ⑶ Write a report about the result of survey.
