Warming up and Reading教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì) 
一、教材分析 
    本單元介紹的主題是“地震”。主要描寫了1976年唐山大地震，各項(xiàng)語(yǔ)言活動(dòng)也都是圍繞地震展開(kāi)。Warming-up 部分通過(guò)兩張圖片引出話題“一旦地震發(fā)生，將會(huì)造成怎樣的危害”，為后面的主題作了一個(gè)熱身運(yùn)動(dòng)。Reading 部分具體描寫了1976年唐山大地震的震前、震中和震后。作者詳細(xì)描述了地震來(lái)臨前的一些不正常的自然現(xiàn)象及動(dòng)物的反常表現(xiàn)；地震的來(lái)勢(shì)洶洶并在頃刻間將整座城市夷為平地；震后人們勇敢面對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)并及時(shí)實(shí)施搶救和重建工作。 二、學(xué)生情況分析 
    高一學(xué)生對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)興趣濃厚，能積極參加各種活動(dòng)，如話題討論，調(diào)查，報(bào)告，有一定的綜合語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力。 三、教學(xué)目標(biāo) 
1、讓學(xué)生對(duì)唐山大地震有更多的了解。 2、培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的略讀和精讀能力。 3、提高學(xué)生在地震中的保護(hù)意識(shí)。 四、教學(xué)重點(diǎn)： 
1、提高學(xué)生精讀和略讀的技巧。 2、讓學(xué)生意識(shí)到自我保護(hù)的重要性。 五、教學(xué)難點(diǎn) 
學(xué)生如何在最短的時(shí)間內(nèi)尋找有用的信息。 六、教學(xué)輔助設(shè)備 1、PPT 2、投影 3、視頻

Lead-in 
(1mins) 
1. Showing a video when students come in the class. The video is a song sang by Micheal Jackson——the Earth Song.  2. Ask the students if they have heard this song before. 3. Lead in the topic——earth Warming up (2 mins) 
1. Showing some pictures about natural disasters and lead to “ earthquake”. Fast Reading   
1. Task 1 (3 mins)——Complete a brief outline of the story. (Using some key words ) 
   Showing an outline to the students. Time: Place:

Students activity: read the text quickly and find the answers to the blank the teacher showing in the screen. And then give answers together. 
2. Task2 (4 mins)——According to the following 3 key words, divide the whole passage into 3 parts, and find out the topic sentences. 1-signs(跡象) 2-damage；  3-rescue(救援)  
Students activity: Finish the task and be ready to be asked.  
Careful Reading  
1. Task3 (8 mins)——Read carefully through the text and find answers to the following Qs in the blank. 
1The water in the village wells_________. 
2Farmers noticed that the well walls had ____________in them.  3___________  came out of the cracks.  
4In the farmyards, the chickens and even the pigs were________________. 5facts and some data 6 multiple choice 
Students activity: Finish the task, underline some keys words in the text and be ready to be asked.  
Summary (3 mins) 
Ask the students to fill in the blank and read the summary together.  
Several days before July 28, 1976, many ______ things happened  in Tangshan. Well walls c______  water pipes broke and _____(爆裂); animals were too_______ to eat. 
Then everything began to shake, as if the world was _________(結(jié)束).  
Soldiers were sent to _______(救援). Slowly, the city began to breathe again.    
Group Work (6 mins) 
1. Task4——Discussion and Speaking What shall we do if an earthquakehappens? 
Students activity: Discuss the question with group members and be ready to talk about their opinions.   
Teacher’s activity: Move around the class to see if they need help. Then ask 2 groups to share their ideas. Finally, give some tips on how to keep safety in earthquake.  
2. Homework: Review the text and do “words and expressions” 板書(shū)設(shè)計(jì) Unit 4 Earthquake The earth song 教學(xué)反思 
優(yōu)點(diǎn)： 
1. 學(xué)生對(duì)過(guò)程和指令比較清晰，能按要求完成4個(gè)任務(wù)。 
2. 學(xué)生能大體上掌握略讀以了解大意和精讀以尋找細(xì)節(jié)的技巧。 3. 談?wù)摥h(huán)節(jié)學(xué)生表現(xiàn)良好，說(shuō)明學(xué)生的綜合能力不錯(cuò)。 
 
                    
             
                    
                            改進(jìn)： 
討論環(huán)節(jié)是整節(jié)課的升華，是體現(xiàn)學(xué)生主體性的一個(gè)重要部分，但此部分給的時(shí)間不夠充足，只有一組學(xué)生有機(jī)會(huì)展示。
