Teaching Aims and Demands		Target language: Have you ever thought about how these things can actually be put to good use? You have probably never heard of Amy. The more popular works can be seen in art shops around the city. Grammar:   Present perfect, passive voice Words and expressions: Curriculum words: upside, gate, bottle, president, inspiration, iron, work, creativity  Useful expressions: throw away, put sth. to good use, pull…down, upside down, bring back
		Ability Objects Master some reading skills and how to protect the environment.
		Moral Objects To make the students do something to save the environment on common days.
Teaching Key Points		According to reading to improve students’ integrating skills-reading skill and writing skill.

Step 1 Warming -up	1. Show something that students made 2. 2a.  To prompt  Ss predict what the reading passage is about.	Try to answer the teacher’s questions. They must use some words to express their feelings.	Recognize how prefixes and suffixes may change the meanings of words.
Step 2 Reading Task 1 Skimming	Read the passage fast and silently to find the general idea (1)Show the pictures and write down the name of each picture.) (2)Read the passage fast and silently to find the answers	Skim the passage fast and find out the answer to the question. Try to complete the chart.	Develop the students’ reading ability. Pave the way for Task Two.

(1)Try to find some details   Jessica Wong  She uses (3)_____ to make bags.  Her bags are (4)________.   She sells her bags(5)_________.   Wang Tao  He makes beautiful art pieces with iron(鐵) and other materials from (6)________.  He hopes to set up a(n) (7)_________.       (2)2b Read the passage and complete the chart below. Names What materials did they use? What did they make?               Check the answers. Explain some details.	Read the passage carefully and try to find out the answers to the questions. Try to complete the chart.	Foster the students’ ability in reorganizing the information.
Task 3 Discussion	Ask the students to work in groups to discuss other ways of reusing and recycling thing. Show my own experience to the students.	Work in groups to discuss other ways of reusing and recycling thing.	Develop the students’ thingking ability.

To enable Ss to learn some key phrases used in the passage they have just read. Explaining the phrases: pull down, put to good use, build … out of, set up, known for	Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the phrases in the box.
Step 4 Sum up	1.2d. To get Ss to focus on prefixes and suffixes. ◈ Prefix: a group of letters added to the beginning of a word to change the meaning of the word e.g. re+ thin rethink       un + usual  unusual ◈ Suffix: a group of letters added to the end of a word to change the part of speech. e.g. actual (adj.) + ly  actually (adv.)       build (v.) + ing  building (n.) 2.Read the text together 3.Sum up the phrases in the passage 4.Exercises: Complete the sentences	Make up sentences using the phrases.               Underline the words in the passage	讓學生懂得前綴某些前綴改變單詞的意義，某些后綴改變單詞的詞性。

Homework：1.Practice reading the passage after class.
               2.Underline some beautiful sentences you like in the passage and share them with your classmate tomorrow.
3.Write 4-5 sentences to talk about ways to solve the environmental problem. You can look at 3b to help you.
4.Make something out of rubbish with you partner.
